Direct-Wiring Through the Receptacle
When adding an electrical outlet between two existing ones, you can direct-wire—or daisy-chain—the new outlet through its receptacle.
This is known as wiring an outlet in series.
With this method, every outlet is connected to each other, allowing the main circuit to run through continuously rather than it branching out into each individual outlet. This is an easier method and involves less wire work than pigtailing, but if one outlet stops working, everything connected to it will also lose power.

If you know the circuit breaker that controls the flow of power to the outlet you will be working on, flip it to the off position. If not, turn off the main breaker.
Remove the Old Receptacle
Unscrew and remove the faceplate of the existing outlet you'll be wiring from.
Next, use a non-contact voltage tester to make sure there are no live wires connected to the receptacle. Disco
