It’s my favorite time of year to travel through Europe. As the continent emerges from winter to embrace the springtime weather, you’ll skip the summer queues and have many of Europe’s most popular destinations all to yourself.

Malta and Sicily are just heating up, while the Dalmatian Coast and the Greek Islands are wonderfully quiet as they warm up for the summer season. For the hottest climate, and almost guaranteed sunshine, take a flight to the Canary Islands or Madeira, where temperatures are well into the 20s (degrees Celsius) or 60s/70s (degrees Fahrenheit).  

Popular cities like Berlin, Budapest, Prague, and Edinburgh are all wonderful places in Europe to visit in April.
